In an era in which our environmental awareness increases from day to day, it is important that brands also accompany us on the path to a more sustainable life and planet.
“Standing up with one foot in design and the other in social responsibility” is the idea behind Veja, a french sneaker brand born in 2005 that stands out for its strong ecological innovation combined with a minimalist aesthetic, striving to counteract conventional manufacturing processes, malicious to the environment.
The name Veja comes from the imperative form of the verb “see” in Portuguese, in order to emphasize the transparency of the brand towards its public. It focuses on fair trade and organic raw materials, as they are economically more equitable in all parties involved in the production chain, given the investment made in research and new technologies.
Veja sneakers are made in Brazil since day one, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Over time, a friendly partnership has developed between the brand and the factory. For Veja, fair compensation and normal working conditions for workers are as important as the quality of the shoes they produce.
Within the ecological constitution of the sneaker, between 20 and 30% of the soles are made of Amazonian rubber, contributing to the increase in the economic value of the forest and helping to combat deforestation. Cotton is organic, free of chemicals and pesticides, and fabrics come from recycled plastic bottles.
Veja is another new brand we are pleased to stock this season - discover all new arrivals here!
