The history of Dr Martens begins in the post-war period with Dr Klaus Maertens recovering from a broken foot. To facilitate this recovery, he created a new model of shoe sole more comfortable than the leather soles of the time. This innovative sole model was then bought by an English family with a long tradition of boot production. Dr Martens boots were thus born in the 1960s and became an immediate symbol of comfort and individuality. This brand became iconic for its irreverence and quality, keeping some of its classic models while launching new and irreverent ones, always appealing to the individuality of each one.
