Founded in Scotland in 1856 by Henry Lee Norris, the North British Rubber Co., later known as Hunter Boot Ltd., manufactured rubber boots as well as other durable rubber products. Boots quickly became the most popular and profitable category. The North British Rubber Co. began expanding its offering to create boots suitable for everyone. Hunter became known for practicality and creative, innovative designs, a legacy that continues today.
